Nancy Reily, owner of Lady With A Pen, has been a calligrapher for over twenty-five years. During that time, she has not only mastered many elegant styles of writing, but also developed a deep understanding of etiquette and refinement regarding events that require calligraphy.
Over the past few years, Nancy has ventured into the writing of original poetry, demonstrated in her beautiful Plum Island Collection, which focuses on the small island town she has come to love since discovering it with her husband in 2001.

Perched on the edge of a wooden backed stool in front of a dark cherry writing desk, Nancy Reily, calligrapher, author and poet combines her passion for art and writing surrounded by her favorite tools and inspirations. Her collection of poetry books and inspirational passages coupled with leather bound journals filled with writing and life history help define the person she is.
After over twenty years of owning a calligraphy shop, Nancy has returned to a home studio where it all began. Her experiences have allowed her to pen many wonderful letters and artistic pieces for occasions both happy and sad and always very meaningful and inspiring.
Using a bottle of Waterman black ink, a beautiful piece of antique or white parchment paper,the writing begins with broad down strokes and delicate lines created by the experienced gentle lift of the beautiful hand blown glass pen from Florence Italy.
As the sliver point of the pen writes across the page there is an exchange of emotion for each written word. The flourishes at the extension of words and the swashes across certain letters make a letter not only a beautiful expression of one's thoughts and feelings but a piece of art to cherish for always.
